HIGH SCHOOLERS - GET INVOLVED

Rocky Mountain Aero Group, in partnership with Scouting America’s Aviation Exploring program, is building a valley-wide aviation pathway for high school students to gain real-world exposure, mentorship, and career direction.

Through structured programming and regional partnerships, students are introduced to aviation not just as an interest, but as a real and attainable future.

This program is open to youth ages 14–20.

EXPLORER POST 777

GO BEYOND INTEREST. STEP INTO THE INDUSTRY

High school students in the Roaring Fork Valley - from Aspen to Rifle can take the next step through Aviation Explorer Post 777, delivered in partnership with Scouting America.

This is not a one-day experience. It is an ongoing program focused on aviation career exploration and hands-on industry exposure.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL EXPLORE

Participants gain exposure to multiple pathways within aviation and aerospace, including:

  • Piloting

  • Airport operations

  • Aviation maintenance

  • Aerospace engineering

  • Aviation security

  • Aviation technology

WHAT THE EXPERIENCE INCLUDES

Explorer Post 777 is designed to turn curiosity into direction through:

  • Mentorship from aviation professionals

  • Airport and operational exposure

  • Hands-on learning experiences

  • Workshops and career talks

  • Real-world insight into aviation pathways

WHY IT MATTERS

Many students are never shown how to enter the aviation industry.

This program bridges that gap by:

  • Making aviation visible and accessible

  • Providing guidance from professionals

  • Building confidence through real exposure

  • Creating a pathway from interest to opportunity

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

  • Ongoing meetings and activities

  • Seasonal programming (aligned with school year)

  • Opportunities for deeper engagement over time

PROGRAM COST

Explorer Post 777 operates in partnership with Scouting America and includes two components:

  • Scouting America Exploring Membership: $50 per year (Paid directly to Scouting America)

  • Rocky Mountain Aero Group Program Fee: $25 per year

Total Annual Cost: $75 Per Student

This combined fee supports program delivery, resources, coordination, and access to meaningful aviation experiences throughout the year.
